Mom Millie (last pic) was picked up as a stray full on pregnant off the streets of Kern County. A lovely family kept her while she gave birth and cared for them for about a month. We then stepped in and took over. The puppies are now 8 weeks old and are ready for their new families. They have been very well cared for and socialized. Such great puppies. Mom is only 14 pounds. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@barknbitches.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
🎾 Exercise
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In an LA apartment
Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
