Meet Camellia, our newest sweet girl, and she’s on her way to NYC! ✈️🐾 Look at that face! Those big, soulful eyes and fluffy ears have already won us over. Camellia is a tiny, tan-and-white fluffball with a gentle heart. She’s a little shy and a little scared (who could blame her?), but we think a soft place to land will bring out her sweet, curious side. 💛 Camellia lands at LaGuardia on Saturday, 11/14 around 1:00 pm, thanks to a generous flight chaperone who’s helping her make the journey. She’s a [age]-week-old [breed/mix] with a gentle, sweet heart. She’s also a little shy and a little scared, which is completely understandable for a baby who’s about to start a brand-new chapter. 💛 Camellia is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home to give her the soft landing she deserves. Here’s what she’ll need: 🏠 A cozy indoor life for now. She’s vaccinated for her age, but until she has her full set of shots at 16 weeks, she’ll be an indoor puppy with no paws on the ground outside. 🐾 A little extra care for her back leg. Camellia has a prior injury to her rear limb/foot that is being treated and cared for until she arrives. Depending on how it heals, she may need a visit to a vet in our network, and we’ll support her with that. 🚽 Patience and consistency. She’ll need help learning potty and house-training, and she’ll start by learning to walk on a harness and leash indoors so she’s ready to explore the big city when the time comes. With some time, gentle encouragement, and lots of love, we think she’ll blossom into a confident, happy girl. Could you be her first soft place to land? 🥹 Interested in fostering or fostering-to-adopt? Apply today! Vaccinated for DHPP, bordetella, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Will need to be vaccinated for rabies and heartworm test when of age and weight. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
🧠 Temperament
She’s a little shy and a little scared (who could blame her?), but we think a soft place to land will bring out her sweet, curious side. Bold and deeply bonded to one or two people.
🎾 Exercise
She’ll need help learning potty and house-training, and she’ll start by learning to walk on a harness and leash indoors so she’s ready to explore the…. Low — short walks and indoor play are plenty.
✂️ Grooming
Easy for both smooth and long coats. Dental care is the real priority; small breeds are prone to tooth disease.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Extremely apartment-friendly and easy to carry on the subway. They get cold fast and need a sweater most of the winter.
