Grilled Cheese | Senior (~13 yrs) | 13 lbs The name says it all: warm, golden, comforting, and 100% impossible to resist. 🧀 Personality & Highlights: Ultimate Cozy Companion: Low-to-medium energy, fully house-trained, and content whether he’s playing fetch, walking, or curled up right beside you. Model Citizen: Walks beautifully on a leash, knows "sit," non-destructive when given free roam of the home. Friendly to All: Warm with adults, kids, and other dogs alike. He’d thrive as an only dog or with a canine sibling. Simple Routine: He takes a straightforward heart medication twice daily, which keeps him feeling great and enjoying life to the fullest. As a result, he shouldn't exert himself physically (you don't have to worry about him wanting to run marathons), but he's a great companion for leisurely strolls. Senior dogs make up for lost time by loving twice as hard. Grilled Cheese offers exactly what comfort food promises—warmth, zero fuss, and uncomplicated love. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Heartworm negative and current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply to adopt Grilled Cheese, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org
🧠 Temperament
🧀 Personality & Highlights: Ultimate Cozy Companion: Low-to-medium energy, fully house-trained, and content whether he’s playing fetch, walking, or…. Bold and deeply bonded to one or two people.
🎾 Exercise
Model Citizen: Walks beautifully on a leash, knows "sit," non-destructive when given free roam of the home. Low — short walks and indoor play are plenty.
✂️ Grooming
Easy for both smooth and long coats. Dental care is the real priority; small breeds are prone to tooth disease.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Extremely apartment-friendly and easy to carry on the subway. They get cold fast and need a sweater most of the winter.
