Maddie is doing her best to settle in after so many changes in her life, and we’re giving her the time she needs to feel comfortable. Her former caretaker told us she’s a calm, sweet girl who loves people and absolutely loves attention. She enjoys being included in whatever is going on, getting belly rubs, playing, and especially being babied. In fact, they said she sometimes acts more like a baby than a dog! We know Maddie has so much love to give, and we can’t wait to see her settled into a loving home where she can feel safe, comfortable, and completely adored. If this animal is located at our Manhattan Adoption Center, head in to meet them and see if you are a match! We are a same-day adoption center, and an application does not put you on a list or hold an animal for you. If they are in Wantagh or in a foster home, please submit an online application and our team will reach out to further discuss the adoption process. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given their age-appropriate vaccines.
🧠 Temperament
Her former caretaker told us she’s a calm, sweet girl who loves people and absolutely loves attention. Confident and lively, with more terrier boldness than their size suggests.
🎾 Exercise
Low to moderate — short walks plus play.
✂️ Grooming
High if kept long; much easier in a short cut. Dental care matters.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Very apartment-friendly. Barking at hallway noise is the common complaint.
