My name is Bosch. I am a female, white and black Great Pyrenees mix. I have been at the shelter since Aug 21, 2026. Hi, I’m Bosch! I’m a 9-month-old Great Pyrenees mix, and I'm about as gentle and sweet as they come. When I first arrived at the shelter, though, I was very timid. Walking on a leash? Absolutely not. You could show me the leash. You could explain the concept. You could tell me there were wonderful things waiting outside. My answer remained: No thank you. I live here now. Thankfully, everyone kept working with me, and with the help of a special training leash, I started figuring this whole walking thing out. And guess what? I'm a fantastic walker now! I do occasionally like to test new people. I'll come outside, plant all four feet firmly on the ground, and give my walker a look that says, "And what exactly do you plan to do about THIS?" A little tug on my leash and suddenly... "Oh, right! We're walking!" My tail pops up, starts wagging, and off I trot like the whole standoff never happened. I'm still a shy girl in general, especially when meeting new dogs. I'm perfectly fine around them, but I'm not necessarily going to charge over screaming, "BEST FRIEND!!!" If another dog doesn't bother me, I'm quite happy to politely pretend they don't exist. I can also live with cats, so I have the potential to fit into lots of different households. There are a couple of things my future family should know about my health. First, I'm really skinny. Everyone here has been working on helping me gain weight, and I've made progress, but I've still got some filling out to do. My future family should be prepared to keep working with their veterinarian on getting me to a healthy weight. I also have bilateral grade 2 MPL, which means the kneecaps in both of my back legs are a little loose. Right now, they don't seem to bother me and our veterinarians aren't recommending any intervention, but it's something my future family should know about and continue monitoring with their own vet. Mostly, though, I'm just a lovely young dog who has already made incredible progress. Bosch needs a family who understands that underneath a little initial hesitation is a sweet, gentle girl who's learning every day that the world isn't such a scary place. And if I happen to plant my feet and give you the look when it's time for our walk? Don't fall for it. We both know I'm going. Bosch is spayed, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. Her adoption fee is $500.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Bosch will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of her adoption. If you'd like to meet Bosch please visit, we're conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus and we're open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm Bosch can't wait to meet you! 🧠 Temperament
I’m a 9-month-old Great Pyrenees mix, and I'm about as gentle and sweet as they come. Calm, independent and gentle, bred to guard livestock alone for days.
🎾 Exercise
If I happen to plant my feet and give you the look when it's time for our walk?. Low to moderate for their size — a couple of long relaxed walks.
✂️ Grooming
Enormous double coat that sheds constantly. Brush several times a week.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Thankfully, everyone kept working with me, and with the help of a special training leash, I started figuring this whole walking thing out. Hard in an apartment mostly because of size, shedding and their instinct to bark at every noise.
