A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.

My name is Francesco. I am a male, black Labrador Retriever mix. I have been at the shelter since Oct 07, 2026. Hi, I’m Francesco! ???? I'm Francesco, a 3-month-old Lab mix, and I have one question: WHO DOESN'T WANT A LITTLE LAB PUPPY?! Seriously. Look at me. LOOK. AT. ME. I'm basically a tiny bundle of happiness with four paws and absolutely no idea how adorable I am. Okay... Maybe I have some idea. I'm only three months old, which means I've got my entire life ahead of me and SO much potential to become an incredible family dog. Kids? Could be great! Adventures? I'M IN! Walks? Absolutely! Playing in the yard? Yes please! Family movie night where I eventually fall asleep upside down on the couch? THIS SOUNDS LIKE AN EXCELLENT LIFE. I'm young enough to grow right alongside my new family and learn exactly what being a great dog is all about. But there is one important thing we should discuss before my adorable puppy face completely shuts down the logical portion of your brain. I DO NOT COME PREPROGRAMMED. I am a puppy. A BABY. Which means I'm going to need training, structure, exercise, socialization, patience, and boundaries while I grow. I may chew something I'm not supposed to. I may have accidents. I may make decisions that cause you to stare at me and ask: "Francesco...WHY?" And I will stare back at you because... I'M THREE MONTHS OLD. I DON'T KNOW EITHER. That's where you come in! Teach me. Show me the world. Help me learn good manners while I'm still little. Put the work into me now, and I have every opportunity to grow into that wonderful family dog everyone pictures when they hear: LAB MIX. I'm sweet. I'm adorable. I'm young. I'm ridiculously full of potential. Honestly, your family seems pretty great already. But have you considered... ADDING A FRANCESCO? I think it could really bring the whole thing together. Francesco is neutered, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. His adoption fee is $500.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Francesco will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of his adoption. If you'd like to meet him please visit, we're conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus. We're open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm. Francesco can't wait to meet you! Labrador Retriever

🧠 Temperament

Friendly, people-focused and famously food-motivated, which makes training straightforward. Labs stay adolescent longer than many breeds and are often goofy well past their second birthday.

🎾 Exercise

Which means I'm going to need training, structure, exercise, socialization, patience, and boundaries while I grow. High needs — 60-90 minutes daily.

✂️ Grooming

Short double coat that sheds heavily year-round and more in spring and fall. Weekly brushing helps a lot.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

Can do well in an apartment if genuinely exercised. Size and shedding are the main constraints; most are elevator- and crowd-tolerant.

Adoption fee $500.00
