A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.

My name is Miles. I am a male, white Labrador Retriever mix. I have been at the shelter since Oct 02, 2026. Hi, I’m Miles! I'm Miles, an almost 3-month-old Lab puppy, and apparently I have been blessed with one enormous advantage in this adoption process: EVERYBODY LOVES A LAB. Seriously. I walk into the room and people immediately start: "OH MY GOD, A LAB PUPPY!" Yes. Hello. IT IS I. Your classic adorable bundle of floppy-eared, tail-wagging, puppy-bellied happiness has arrived. I'm still just a tiny baby, which means my entire future is sitting right in front of me. And I have SO MUCH POTENTIAL. Want a family dog? I'm ready! Want an adventure buddy? Teach me! Want a dog who grows up playing with the kids, going on walks, joining family outings, and eventually flopping on the couch at the end of the day? THAT SOUNDS GREAT TO ME. But before everyone gets hypnotized by my adorable puppy face... I do need you to remember something. I'M A BABY. I don't arrive preprogrammed with perfect manners. I need training. I need socialization. I need exercise. I need boundaries. I need someone to patiently explain why shoes are apparently not toys even though this seems like an arbitrary human rule. And eventually? I'm going to get BIGGER. So when Tiny Miles jumps up and you think: "AWWW!" Please remember that Future Miles will appreciate you teaching me: FOUR PAWS ON THE FLOOR, SIR. Put the work into me while I'm little, and I have every opportunity to grow into the kind of wonderful family dog people picture when they hear the word Lab. Right now, I'm basically a little blank canvas with four paws and a wagging tail. I'm ready to learn. I'm ready to grow. I'm ready to love somebody like crazy. And most importantly... I'M READY TO GO HOME. I'm Miles. I'm almost three months old. I'm ridiculously adorable. And I've got my whole beautiful life ahead of me. LET'S MAKE IT A GOOD ONE. Miles is neutered, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. His adoption fee is $500.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Miles will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of his adoption. If you'd like to meet him please visit, we're conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus. We're open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm. Miles can't wait to meet you! Labrador Retriever

🧠 Temperament

Friendly, people-focused and famously food-motivated, which makes training straightforward. Labs stay adolescent longer than many breeds and are often goofy well past their second birthday.

🎾 Exercise

I walk into the room and people immediately start: "OH MY GOD, A LAB PUPPY!" Yes. High needs — 60-90 minutes daily.

✂️ Grooming

Short double coat that sheds heavily year-round and more in spring and fall. Weekly brushing helps a lot.

🏙️ In a NYC apartment

Can do well in an apartment if genuinely exercised. Size and shedding are the main constraints; most are elevator- and crowd-tolerant.

Adoption fee $500.00
