A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
My name is Vicky. I am a female, brown German Shepherd Dog mix. I have been at the shelter since Aug 27, 2026. Hi, I’m Vicky! I'm Vicky, a 3-month-old Shepherd puppy, and I've got my entire life ahead of me! What am I going to be when I grow up? Excellent question. Adventure buddy? Absolutely. Neighborhood walking superstar? Sounds great! Trick-learning genius who knows seventeen different commands but mysteriously forgets all of them when there aren't treats involved? VERY possible. Professional couch cuddler who spends her weekends hiking with her humans? I could see it. The wonderful thing about me is that I'm starting out with such a great foundation. I'm a confident, happy, social little puppy who takes new experiences in stride and seems ready to tackle whatever life throws my way. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, so I have the potential to fit into all sorts of families. Of course, nobody gets a perfectly trained adult dog simply by adopting an adorable puppy! I'm still just a baby, and I'll need a family committed to training, socialization, exercise, and helping me learn all the important skills I'll need as I grow. But that's also the exciting part. Right now, Vicky could become so many things. She's confident enough to explore the world, young enough to learn everything you want to teach her, and happy enough to think the whole process sounds like one fantastic adventure. All she needs is someone ready to show her the way. Future Vicky is waiting to see what you two become together. Vicky is spayed, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. Her adoption fee is $500.00, plus $8.50 for the dog license if you are a resident of NYC. Vicky will also get one free exam with one of our participating veterinarians within 30 days of her adoption. If you'd like to meet Vicky please visit, we're conveniently located in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn near the F train (Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and the B16 bus and we're open daily for adoptions from 11am to 5:30pm Vicky can't wait to meet you! 🧠 Temperament
I'm a confident, happy, social little puppy who takes new experiences in stride and seems ready to tackle whatever life throws my way. Confident, highly trainable and deeply loyal, bred to work all day alongside a handler.
🎾 Exercise
I'm still just a baby, and I'll need a family committed to training, socialization, exercise, and helping me learn all the important skills I'll need…. High — 60-90+ minutes daily plus a job to do.
✂️ Grooming
Heavy double-coat shedding year-round with two big blowouts a year. Brush several times a week.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
Demanding in an apartment: large, vocal and often reactive to the constant stimulus of a city street. Very doable for an experienced owner, hard for a first-timer.
