Birkin is a wonderful girl. She was rescued from a high impound shelter in Kern County. When we first laid eyes on her, she was still on stray hold. No one ever came for her. Birkin is more of a people dog than a dogs dog.She gets very attached to her human, so boundaries will be necessary. She does well in her crate and is living with a cat harmoniously. She is around 40 pounds. The vet was not concerned with the fact that one eye opening is smaller than the rest. Horner's syndrome is a completely non-painful condition that occurs when the nerve signals traveling to the eye are temporarily interrupted. Because she is completely comfortable, she isn't squinting due to pain (like an ulcer or scratch would cause); instead, the muscles holding the eyelid open have simply relaxed. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.
