A NYC estimate for a dog this size and coat. Excludes the adoption fee and anything unexpected.
Fully grown at about 13 lbs.
Cleopawtra deserves to be treated like the queen she is named after. Your (servant) hands will grow some muscle from feeding into her many belly rub demands. While she may look like a chihuahua in cow's clothing, if you call her a cow, she will give you some major side eye that says, "what did you just call me?!" While she sometime gets scared of loud noises, cleopawtra is a true city girl, where even her coat camoflauges with a well-worn crosswalk. She loves walkies, riding the subway, and hanging out on restaurant patios, mainly so she can check in with all her loyal subjects, ensuring they bow down to the queen (with pets and treats). Cleopawtra is approximately 10y 11m 14d old, approximately 13 pounds, and we estimate their optimal weight to be about 11 pounds. They are microchipped and up to date on all age-appropriate medical care. Their breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done. Although our dogs are listed as unknown breed, buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog. This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue. If you're interested in adopting, the first thing you should do is begin the registration process at www.muddypawsrescue.org. If you are already a registered adopter with Muddy Paws Rescue, please email us at adoptionmeetings@muddypawsrescue.org.
This dog's breed isn't known, so here's general guidance for mixes.
🧠 Temperament
Every dog is an individual — temperament depends far more on this dog's history and personality than on breed. The rescue's write-up is the best guide.
🎾 Exercise
Most adult dogs do well with 30-60 minutes of walking a day plus play and sniffing time.
✂️ Grooming
Brush regularly, bathe as needed, keep nails trimmed and ears clean.
🏙️ In a NYC apartment
She loves walkies, riding the subway, and hanging out on restaurant patios, mainly so she can check in with all her loyal subjects, ensuring they bow…. Ask the rescue about leash manners, elevator and stair comfort, alone-time tolerance, and whether the dog settles in a small space.
