A large dog by weight

Meet Rovie from the Land Rover litter, one of six puppies who came to us with their mom, Honor, after a family in El Cajon who couldn't keep them. Thanks to fosters, we were able to step in to help. He's about 12 weeks old now and weighs 12.8 pounds, already the heavyweight of his litter, and based on his size so far we're estimating he'll land around 40 to 55 pounds as an adult, though that's a guess. He's possibly a lab / cocker spaniel mix, black with long legs, big paws, and a speckled white patch across his neck and chest that looks almost painted on, and he's more talker than barker, making these little playful noises when he's excited instead of raising an actual bark. Rovie is obsessed with fetch, even though the "bring it back" part is still a work in progress, and he sleeps through the night without any fuss. Potty training is coming along, not perfect yet, but he's getting there one pad at a time. If you think Rovie sounds like the right fit for your family, head to hitlivingfoundation.org/adopt to apply. :sparkles: Est DOB: 05/17/2026 Adoption Fee: $800

Labrador Retriever

🧠 Temperament

Friendly, people-focused and famously food-motivated, which makes training straightforward. Labs stay adolescent longer than many breeds and are often goofy well past their second birthday.

🎾 Exercise

Rovie is obsessed with fetch, even though the "bring it back" part is still a work in progress, and he sleeps through the night without any fuss. High needs — 60-90 minutes daily.

✂️ Grooming

Short double coat that sheds heavily year-round and more in spring and fall. Weekly brushing helps a lot.

🏙️ In an LA apartment

Potty training is coming along, not perfect yet, but he's getting there one pad at a time. Can do well in an apartment if genuinely exercised.
